Seizure : From November 2008. A lot of 1960s council housing around Elephant and Castle has been vacated prior to demolition for a major redevelopment (one of the largest in Europe). Roger Hiorns filled an empty flat with copper sulphate solution at 60 degC, gave it three weeks to cool to 30 degC, and then drained it so people could go in (in wellies) and see a space entirely covered in huge blue crystals. I queued for an hour surrounded by upper class twits ("Mummy, don't you think it must be awful to live in a council flat?"), but the work was more beautiful than I could possibly have imagined. These are terrible pictures, but I hope they capture something.
