Posadas and the Missions - kelper

Posadas is the capital of the sub-tropical province of Missiones, which is sandwiched between Paraguay and Brazil, which is another way of saying "between the epic Paraná River and the substantial Uruguay River". Most tourists pass through Missiones on their way to the Iguazú Falls, at the far north between Argentina and Brazil. I didn't fancy that particular bus journey, however, and was in Missiones mainly to see the ruins of some Jesuit Missions within 60 km of Posadas. I had three nights in the area and enjoyed it, though the heat and humidity were a challenge for me, even in early spring.
