Tafí del Valle - kelper

Tafí del Valle is a tourist town about 80 km to the west of Tucumán, at an elevation of 2100 m. The Lonely Planet describes it as a favourite refuge of tucumanos from the fierce summer heat, and it was certainly a lot colder than Tucumán. It was only when I got to Tafí that I realised that the cold snap had been affecting the entire country; the TV news over breakfast in Resistencia had all been about fog in Buenos Aires, which is of course the only place that matters!
